Easter

Easter is the high feast of the Christian year when we celebrate what Christianity is all about, the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. During Easter week we also have services daily including a foot washing service on Maundy Thursday, a Good Friday Service, and an Easter Vigil on Saturday. There are two Holy Eucharist Services on Easter morning with a fabulous Parish Breakfast in between.

Parish Suppers

The Women’s Guild puts out the best food in the county at the Parish Suppers held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from May through October. The cost is $7 per person. Don’t miss it!!!

Pentecost

In spring, we celebrate Pentecost which is the birthday of the Christian church. This celebration commemorates the coming of the Holy Spirit to the young church when everyone understood everyone else although they were all speaking different languages. This service is a joyful celebration for us when the church is always full of the Holy Spirit.

Pet Memorial Service

In July, we celebrate the lives of our pets that have died at the Pet Memorial Service. This service is held outdoors (weather permitting). Parictipants bring a framed photograph of the pet(s) whose lives we are celebrating and they will be displayed and blessed. The offering benefits Lakes Region Humane Society and the parish of St. John the Baptist.

Calico Fair

In July, we hold our more than 100 year old country fair where you’ll find all manner of food, knick knacks, arts, crafts, household articles, face painting and fun and games for the kids.
